Imported directly from Mongolia, our yurts are almost entirely hand made. From the decorated wood frame to the felt and tarp as well as the braided horse hair that holds the walls together. Traditional Mongolian furnishings are also available. Almost all of our products are purchased in rural areas of Mongolia in order to encourage in our own way rural prosperity and help cease rural exile.

The kazakh yurt (available only on order)
The frame is natural and plain. Unlike the Mongolian yurt, it does not have 2 supporting pillars, they may have 1 or none at all. Decorations are found on the wall hangings which are very bright and ornate. In general this yurt is larger than the Mongolian yurt and a bit more difficult to put up.

The Kirghiz yurt (available only on order)
More egg shaped, this yurt has a more “oriental” appeal. Without central pillars, these magnificent yurts are roughly the same diameter however more expensive than their Mongolian and Kazakh counterparts. They can be special ordered with or without decoration, with complete furnishings, felt carpets and embroideries.
